Junior & Wayne

A friendship that became a lifetime of music.

Junio met keyboardist Wayne Borje at church. To those close to him, Wayne was known as Bully.

Wayne became blind soon after he was born. What stood out to Junior was how deeply Wayne loved music where he would play on his keyboard for hours on end.

That love of music created an immediate connection.

They began spending time together playing music, with Junior on guitar or singing and Wayne at the keyboard. What started simply, as two musicians enjoying the chance to play together, grew into a creative partnership.

Before long, they were performing together.

Then they began recording.

There were no big plans behind it at first. The music came from the same place their friendship did. They enjoyed creating together. They trusted one another musically. They listened together, experimented with what they could do with their instruments, and then let the songs take shape.

Over time, those sessions became recordings, and those recordings became a body of music they could share with others.

The songs reflected not only what they created together, but also the years of friendship behind them.

Wayne brought his musicianship, talent, and love for the keyboard. Junior brought his voice, guitar, songwriting, and musical ideas. Together, they created music that reflected the way they connected with one another through sound.

Wayne passed away in 2015, but the recordings remain.

For Junior, they are more than albums, songs, or moments from their career together. They are part of a shared history with his friend, his brother, who played an important role in his life.

When you listen to the music on this page, you are hearing the result of years spent playing, performing, creating, and recording together, along with the joy they found in simply making music.

The Music They Left Behind

A friendship that lives on through music.

The recordings collected here represent different moments, styles, and periods in Junior and Wayne’s musical lives.

Some were created for performance. Some grew out of studio sessions. Others came from the desire to take an idea and turn it into a finished song.

What runs through all of them is the same love of music that brought Junior and Wayne together in the first place.

This archive was created to preserve that work, share it, and remember the friendship behind it.
